CityWellnessLinkGroup (CWLG) is consortium funded by InnovateUK undertaking a feasibility study to determine whether ‘connected’ health and well-being data can extend the working life and productivity of older employees. We envision a future where the workforce is supported by digital services to help access resources at the right time and adapt work styles, enabling people to stay in productive work for longer.
CWLG, led by Fujitsu and coordinated by European Knowledge Tree Group, is made up of partners each bringing specific expertise in the health and digital domains. Partners include Docobo, Z/Yen Group, Barts Health NHS Trust, East London NHS Foundation Trust, and Morrisons, working with other Community Groups.
Our study will focus on the City of London, Tower Hamlets, and Newham where 50% of commuters are over the age of 50. There is a higher risk of these employees living with or developing a long-term condition and consequently stopping work before retirement age. This area includes organisations such as London City Airport, The Docklands Light Railway, and the London Emergency Helicopter.
We are inviting employers and employees to participate in a survey on health and wellbeing in the workforce and their relationship with digital technology. We will offer people the opportunity to share their views anonymously and identify areas which could be further supported with digital services. We will share the results and insights from our study on using digital services with our participants.
