We will discover many sites important in the life and work of Charles Dickens, Dr Johnson's house, Shakespeare lodgings, a very old and very literary pub where over 50 writers have drunk, ancient areas important to Restoration drama, the writer of King Kong, and the first woman news editor who defied convention and reshaped the media landscape.

Speaker:
Sam Jacobs is a third generation Londoner and a qualified City of London guide. He leads tours for the City of London corporation and Greater London Authority and the London Festival of Architecture. He’s worked in hi-tech in the City for 40 years with Banks & Insurance companies and is a graduate of Cambridge University.
Sam’s a specialist in the art, architecture, sights, eating and drinking places, churches, synagogues, gardens and history of London and leads regular walks in the area. He’s written several books about London's sights, literature and hotels, pubs and restaurants.
