Z/Yen founders and sponsors attended the first full meeting of Z/Yen on Friday 7 October.
Topics of discussion ranged from the strategic (should we have 22200 or 14400 bps modems), to the humdrum (what business are we in?, how big might we get?, when should we try an International dimension?).
Eight people attended the meeting, which quickly split into ten factions. We therefore formed fifteen steering committees to produce composites from the seventy eight resolutions tabled on the day. Yes, indeed, we are making progress.
Seriously, people said they found the day very productive, informative and helpful. It has reminded us how much there is to do, but has also instilled confidence that we can achieve our goals.
And now folks, it’s story time. In fact, the main purpose of this special issue of Z/Yen news is to circulate a sample chapter of the book, which I have long promised but consistently forgotten to deliver. Comments (favourable only – no, only kidding) would be welcome. There are ten chapters, so if you want more, there’s more.
The next issue of New and Z/Yen should bring you up to date before the next meeting. See you around Z/Yen!
