It is with great sadness that we report the passing of our Z/Yen colleague and friend Mark Yeandle. Mark worked with us at Z/Yen from 2002 until his severe indisposition in 2019. Mark's wife and sons were with Mark at his bedside when he passed peacefully on 2 July.

Mark will always be remembered by his family and friends for his love of sports and his numerous hobbies including cooking and woodwork. An extremely sociable man, he had an incredible ability to make people feel at ease and was genuinely interested in meeting new people. He had a thirst for knowledge and an insatiable appetite for researching interesting topics.

All of those characteristics made Mark an ideal Z/Yen person, not least in his role, for many years, leading Z/Yen's international programme of research into global financial centres and related topics.

To quote one internal tribute at Z/Yen from Bikash Kharel (reproduced here with Bikash's permission):

"I am deeply saddened to hear about Mark's passing. He was my first manager, and I had the privilege of working with him for my first three years. He made a significant impact on my professional life, and I will always remember his guidance and support."

Mark will be sorely missed by work colleagues, clients and friends.

There will be a Service of Remembrance at St Mary's Church, Frittenden, on the day of Mark's funeral, 29 July 2024. Please contact me, Ian Harris, for further details if you are interested in attending.
