GFCI 22

GFCI 22 was recently published to much acclaim. We held two contemporaneous launches, with Mark in Abu Dhabi and Michael in Chengdu. The big news from the media’s viewpoint was that London had fared better than expected in light of the uncertainty caused by Brexit. All the top centres fell in the ratings, but London remained top of the rankings and only fell by four points (on a scale of 1,000). New York in 2nd place fell by 24 points – respondents to our questionnaire blamed this on the continuing uncertainty surrounding the Trump administration’s policies. Of the European centres that may be affected by Brexit, Frankfurt, Paris, Dublin, and Amsterdam all saw small rises, whilst Zurich, Luxembourg, and Geneva fell slightly. Since the launch, Mark has been to Casablanca, Dublin, and Jinan promoting the GFCI.

GFCI 23 will be published on Monday 12 March 2018 and it will be interesting to see what the effect of ongoing Brexit negotiations has on the top centres. The launch of GFCI 23 will be in Qingdao, although we may organise another event in another financial centre on the same day.
