The Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) and the Payment Services Directive (PSD) are finally in place. Seven months later, what’s happening? Who are the new Payments Institutions, if any? What’s different? In this discussion, two authorities on these regulatory drives will provide an insight into how this world of Euro payments is progressing.

Ruth Wandhöfer is leading Citi’s Payments Strategy within the EMEA Treasury and Trade Solutions business of Global Transaction Services. She is highly recognised in the European payment industry as one of the foremost authorities on SEPA and the PSD and she is the Chair of the European Expert Group on the transposition of the Payment Services Directive, a joint initiative of the three European Credit Sector Associations. She is also a member of the Plenary of the European Payments Council as well as a member of the SEPA schemes working group, driving the continued evolution of SEPA.
Simon Newstead, Head of Financial Institutions Advisory Group, Royal Bank of Scotland
Simon Newstead has responsibility for the provision of advisory services to key banking clients in relation to developments in the UK and European payments industry, including SEPA and the Payment Services Directive, together with internal responsibilities for the evolution of RBS’ related propositions for banking clients.
