Article - What should we teach our children about money?
Link for mobile users - What should we teach our children about money?
Most of us went through school without learning much about money but in recent years some interesting improvements have been made, focusing on personal finance. This webinar will explore how and why we should consider going further, to encourage children to be good economic citizens contributing to a thriving society. Among other things, what should they know about the contribution of financial services? The whole topic is politically and morally sensitive, with competing rhetorical tricks so familiar we hardly notice them. How should educators deal with this? The presentation will be an introduction to a longer, more detailed article that further explains the issues and proposes a detailed syllabus.
The webinar should be thought provoking for parents, teachers, students, and anyone with an interest in education, economics, or building a better society. We expect a lively discussion.
