This workshop will explore the role of current standards in finance and will discuss how standards markets could further improve financial services regulation.
Standards market regulation is already used in some areas of finance, e.g. ISO 22222 (personal financial planning) and AS3806 (financial services compliance). Standards could however play a greater role in finance not the least to increase transparency and encourage better practice.
This event is organised as part of a research project titled "How to Make Standards Markets Work for Financial Services" which seeks to engage a cross-section of the financial services as well as the financial regulatory community, industry bodies, emerging schemes and the accreditation and certification community.
After a short presentation on the research project, Dan Palmer will talk about the current role of standards in finance. The presentation will be followed by a discussion on standards and people, product & process as well as a Q&A.
