Reception With The Lord Mayor Alderman Professor Michael Mainelli (AB’81) At Mansion House
Mixer

Last day to register 15th September

Join us for a special evening with the Lord Mayor of the City of London in the Egyptian Hall of the magnificent Mansion House (his home and office). The Right Honourable, the Lord Mayor Alderman Professor Michael Mainelli (AB 1981) is the first graduate from a US college to serve in the historic post of Lord Mayor of the City of London. The Lord Mayoralty is among the oldest elected civic offices in the world, dating back to 1189.

The Lord Mayor will speak on "Education - the City's Oldest Industry," a subject matter that is sure to resonate with many of us. The Lord Mayor wears many different hats and he is strongly committed to promoting learning, research, education and levelling up.

Before and after speeches, canapés and bowl food will be served and there will be performances of classical and film music. The performers include Trio Veritas (formed by HCUK Board and Committee members) and guest artist, Calin Andrei (Romanian-born violinist, Royal College of Music).

This is the first HCUK reception at Mansion House since 2015. It is a rare privilege – and possibly once-in-a-lifetime opportunity - to attend an event at Mansion House with a Lord Mayor who is a Harvard alumnus. HCUK has secured corporate sponsorship for this event so we may reduce ticket prices.
