Background:
In a world of increasingly activist states, government decisions matter. What insights do we have into apex decision-making in government – the level one decisions that can be consequential for business and society? Join Professor Alexander Evans from the London School of Economics as he offers a take on how the British, American and UN systems operate, including on regulatory diplomacy and standards.
Speaker:
Professor Alexander Evans OBE teaches public policy and technology at the LSE and directs the MPA in Data Science for Public Policy. A career member of HM Diplomatic Service, he has worked in 10 Downing Street, the Obama Administration State Department, and headed the UN Security Council’s Daesh, Al Qaida and Taliban expert mission. Among his UK government roles he has been Strategy Director in the Cabinet Office, Cyber Director in the Foreign Office, and deputy and acting High Commissioner to India and (briefly) Pakistan.
