Digital transformation affects all aspects of a business’s operations, including contracts, internal documentation and employment relationships. The covid-19 pandemic has heightened the need for contactless and remote contracting, as a result of which businesses are turning to digital contracting and electronic signatures. Using the appropriate form of e-signatures helps businesses save time and money, increase security, and enhance their environmental credentials. During the webinar the speakers will discuss which electronic signature and electronic contracting solutions are accepted as legally binding in the CEE. They will also share practical information on the acceptance and enforceability of contracts and legal statements signed with electronic signatures, the type of electronic signatures which are legally binding, and other digital solutions for contracting and making legal statements.

Speakers:

Dóra Petrányi is a partner and CEE Managing Director at CMS. She heads the Commercial, Competition, Technology, Media, Telecommunications (TMT) and Intellectual property (IP) practices in the Budapest office.

Dóra is the Co-Chairman of the Regulatory Committee of the Hungarian AI Coalition and leads formulating the response of the Hungarian AI Coalition to the EU consultation request regarding the EU White Paper on Artificial Intelligence, A European Approach to Excellence and Trust. She is also a member of the Hungarian Council of Copyright Experts and a member of the Digital Civil Code Review Working Group, being the only outside counsel in the team. She is the first and only lawyer to be a member of the co-regulatory committee between the local telecommunications’ regulatory authority and the Association of Hungarian Content Providers. She is also a member of the supervisory committee of UNICEF.

Dóra is a co-author of the CMS publication The Cybersecurity Challenge in Central and Eastern Europe, CMS’s Network Sharing Studies and several other publications. She is a regular speaker at key international conferences, including the World Economic Forum (Davos), the Mobile World Congress, and ECTA.

Marek Oleksyn is a qualified Polish attorney-at-law and a Partner at CMS IP/TMC practice in the Warsaw office. He has over 16 years of experience in a broad range of intellectual property matters, including trademark, patent, design, unfair competition, copyright, domain names, plant variety, databases and IP customs protection. Marek represents clients in court litigation, domain name disputes and arbitration as well as trademark invalidation and revocation matters. He also prepares and negotiates agreements on IP assignment and licensing, prepares opinions and memoranda on IP-related matters and drafts agreements with key personnel re: assignment of intellectual property rights. He assists clients in R&D projects.

Marek is author of numerous publications on the protection of intellectual property and advertising law. He lectures at Lazarski University, including “Law in New Technologies” postgraduate studies. Marek is a recommended lawyer in the field of intellectual property by Legal 500, WTR 1000, Chambers and IAM Patent 1000.
