Background:
Everyone talks about Global Transactions these days, but what does it mean and where is this going? Is it just about payments, or more than payments?
Does this just mean servicing banks that are the largest volume SWIFT processors, or more?
As a follow-on from SIBOS and for those who could not make Toronto, this meeting will focus upon the future of Global Transactions, and will be led by Wilco Dado.
Wilco Dado manages global payment services and cash management for corporate and institutional clients for the RBS Group. In this role, his aim is to further develop and execute an integrated payments strategy bringing together the key challenges of payments and collections and to develop
products, with a key focus on SEPA.
With over 20 years of experience in transaction banking, Wilco brings a wealth of knowledge, including a background in cash management, electronic banking, relationship banking and product management. He was previously Head of Global Transaction Services in the Netherlands for ABN AMRO.
Harry Newman is responsible for SWIFT”s banking strategy in EMEA and for managing a series of market initiatives; such as SEPA and Market Infrastructures including Euro1 and TARGET2. His has 20 years experience in payments and market infrastructures globally, designing and managing RTGS systems and SWIFT’s role in payment infrastructures.
He was chairman of SWIFT’s Resiliency Advisory Council and responsible for defining the requirements for the Post 9/11 SWIFT resilience programme.
Before joining SWIFT. Harry worked for APACS in the UK where he was the projects manager for CHAPS, the UK high value payment system.
