Performance: Julia Streets in ‘Streets in the City’

Subject: Streets in the City, an Open Evening for Christmas, 12th December 2011

On 12th December, The Financial Services Club is gathering for our Christmas Celebration. This year it's a light-hearted evening of fun and festivities at The City IOD, New Broad Street House, 35 New Broad Street, London, EC2M 1NH from 18.00 till late, and led by the amazing Julia Streets.

Julia Streets is an experienced compere and comedienne and has been featured on Radio 4 Today Programme, other regional radio channels and in the City media. In addition to her day job, which apparently she?s very good at because people tell her she shouldn?t give it up, Julia writes her own brand of material based upon observations of corporate life drawn from years spent earning her pinstripes in and around the City. Julia also tackles tough questions such as: How do you protect yourself from identity fraud? as well as many others you never knew you wanted to ask: What to do when speed dating isn?t fast enough? Could evening classes lead to a whole new career? and more. Critical issues are captured in anecdotes and songs and designed to appeal to anyone who has ever shared gossip, a printer or a coffee shop queue.

This is an Open Evening for all interested in joining or knowing more about the Financial Services Club or already a member to mingle, mangle and have fun, so you are invited to attend the evening as our guest, free of charge. All we ask is a donation of ?10 minimum from each person towards Julia's chosen charity, Children in Crisis.

Children in Crisis protects and educates children facing the toughest hardships. Through education, they improve children?s life chances, unite their communities and build peace. Through adult education and income generation, they support families and communities to sustain their children?s education, and access resources from government. Specifically, Children in Crisis choose to work where few others do, in some of the most challenging places, and in areas affected by conflict or political instability such as in Afghanistan and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
